I am trying to replace the timing belt on our 93 eagle summit. We are stuck at the crankshaft pulley. Removed the 4 screws around the large nut but the large nut will not budge. I read somewhere that you only have to take off the 4 screws but it still is not coming off. |
| Answer: | Jackie, The crankshaft pulley can sometimes get stuck against the crank sprocket. That large bolt is the crankshaft bolt, and it's holding on the sprocket. The pulley may be stubborn, but a few taps with a wooden mallet or hard rubber mallet should break it free. You do not need to remove the large crank bolt to get the pulley off. Good luck! |
