Subject: Mitsubishi Montero Horn Problem
Question: Hi Anthony,

I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Montero (full size) that has a problem with the horn.
The other day I "beeped", and it kept beeping. I turned off the truck and started it again, and the horn stopped beeping.
I removed the fuse from the horn because it started beeping by itself while driving.
Any ideas on where I should look to fix this problem?

Thank you,

Ricky

Answer: Ricky,
It sounds like the relay or associated switch is stuck. There is a simple switch on your steering wheel that makes a connection that completes the circuit to activate the horn. If that switch is stuck on, the horn will continuously be on. It's most likely a simple and inexpensive fix for your average mechanic. Take it in and get it fixed. Since your horn is used for safety reasons, it's not a good idea to drive without one.
Good luck!
