Subject: starting
Question: i have a '91 montero that has never given me any trouble. when i tryed to start it on Sunday, (I don't drive it every day) it absolutely refuses to start! I don't think it's fuel trouble, because the gastank and fuel pump are less then a year old, and dumping some gas in the intake does nothing, however I do notice that I am not getting a spark out of the coil, I replaced it today but no change. what should I do next?
Answer: Bill,
If you haven't replaced your spark plugs or plug wires when replacing your coils, try that. If after everything has been replaced, and you do not see a change, your problem may be with your car's computer (ECU). Read this web page for further information:

If your ECU has failed, you will experience all sorts of strange and unexpected problems. Have your ECU inspected by a qualifed technician.
Good luck!
