| Subject: | Rear end knock noise Montero |
| Question: |
Hello I have a 1992 mitsubishi Montero. When I turn or come out the driveway I would hear a painful noise, as if a mount is bad. I took it to a shop, they replaced a transmission mount. I slowed a little but noise still there. It has 160K on it and in good shape except for this terrible rear noise that two shops cant figure out. Before I take it to the dealer I thought I ask you guys. Thanks so much |
| Answer: | Kevin, You may have a broken swaybar, worn CV joint, or bad bushings that are causing that noise. But if the shop you brought it to could not find the problem, it's a good idea to have the dealer check it out. Getting it fixed correctly from the dealership is usually cheaper than having a local shop guess with the fixes. Good luck! |
