I have a 97 Montero Sport LS. For some time now, the antenna has made a grinding noise and doesn't retract when the radio is powered off. Now, the FM stations don't play; I only hear static. I can hear normal stations on the AM channels, and the CD and tape player still play. Would having the antenna replaced resolve the problem with the FM stations? Thanks! Anita |
| Answer: | Anita, Yes, replacing the antenna should fix your problem with the FM stations. You can get it replaced with an OEM antenna that will retract, though if you want you can get a permanent fixed antenna that may last longer. Good luck! |
