Subject: 1995 Montero instrument lights

Hi-
my 1995 mitsubishi montero has 4 instrument lights that glow. the four lights are a/t light, brake, battery, and maint req. its just a faint glow, but when you step on the accelerator the lights dim out.
what could be causeing this?

This usually means your alternator is starting to go bad. Have your alternator and battery checked and replaced if your mechanic finds they are not producing enough power. If you're still using the original alternator that came with the car, odds are it's on it's way out. Most Mitsubishi alternators last around 10 years. It would probably be a good idea to replace your alternator drive belt as well.
