| Subject: | mitsubishi magna 1998 3.0 L automatic, white smoke |
| Question: |
it lets out light blue smoke from under the bonett only on driving steep slope after an hour or so, and not when driven for long distance on plain terrain.? |
| Answer: | Ravi, The car's engine needs to work much harder when climbing a steep hill. You may be leaking oil from under the valve cover. This can happen driving under any condition. But when you're driving on a slope, the oil is more likely to drip on a hot part of the engine, causing it burn and smoke. Have a mechanic check for oil seepage and have any seals or gaskets replaced as necessary. Good luck! |
