Does my carisma's front wheel speed sensor gone faulty? please help!

Answer: Benson,
Unless your check engine light (CEL) stays on continuously, most mechanics wouldn't even venture a guess as to what the problem could be. Speed sensors are on vehicles that come with anti-lock braking systems. And if your car has ABS, then chances are your ABS light would come on as well as your CEL. But I would not rule that out a bad sensor because a flickering CEL could indicate several different problems. The most common items to cause the CEL to come on is a faulty emmissions or ignition component. Anything from from a bad spark plug to a stuck EGR valve can set off the light. You may simply have a loose alternator belt and that can cause your CEL and/or battery light to come on.

If you recently bought the car from a dealership, you can take it back to them and ask if they can do a courtesy check for free of your emmissions and ignition systems. Else, I would recommend you get the car a tune-up and see if that helps. Even if a tune-up does not help, it's always a first good step in making sure the used car you bought will run properly.
Good luck!
