Followup To Finding the connector
Question - O.K. my friend thats helping me work on my car is saying that if I find this connector that there is more plugs and sensors thats not plugged in according to his specialty guy he's talking over me talking to you and I told him you have more knowledge in mitsubishi than his guy, but his guy says thereis more plugs that won't be plugged in but I don't think so. Here is what sensors I plugged in myself(TPS),(ENG.coolant temp.),(ENG.coolant gauge unit),(EGR),(CMP),(fuelsensorRear),(OXYGEN),(Distributor)is any missed thats all I saw that unplugged when I took off the other motor. My friend specialty guy said that it is about another dozen sensor that I'm missing being plugged in or if the car runs it will run weak and cause other problems if those sensors are not plugged in,but I plugged in all wires that I took off the (96)motor to the (95)motor do you think any sensors is missed being plugged in or what his friend say is reality, but I know I did not miss any sensors or plugs. I'm not stupid cause I know that I plugged them all in.
Answer: If you plugged everything into this engine as it was from the '96 engine, I think you'll be OK. The electrical items you listed are just about all the major sensors and sending units I can think of off the top of my head. The 1.5L engine that Mitsu put in their Mirages isn't the most complex engine out there. If you did miss any plugs, your 'check engine light' (CEL) MIGHT come on to let you know there's a problem. And even if you missed a connector or two and your CEL does not come on while you're driving, I doubt you will cause any damage. From what I've experienced when driving Mitsubishis with unconnected or damaged sensors is that the car may run a little rough, and your emissions may be a little higher than normal. Try out the car for a week or so to see how it runs. Don't drive it too far just in case ;-) I think you'll be fine, and I wouldn't worry about those "other dozen sensors" that your friend says you're missing.
