| Subject: | Don't see the connector for the crankshaft sensor |
| Question: | Hi,I didn't see the connector for the crankshaft sensor on the motor where you said it would be, I looked in a book and found a picture but I can't e-mail it to you or can I, but I looked at the diagram for a (96) mirage motor 1.5L and it shows the sensor by the crankshaft sprocket abbreviated (CKP) and I looked at a diagram of the same mirage motor being a (95)mirage 1.5L and it shows the crankshaft sensor(CKP)and the camshaft sensor(CMP)both by the ENG.coolant temp. gauge unit & ENG.coolant temp. sensor: but most importantly it shows both the crankshaft sensor(CKP)& camshaft sensor(CMP)sharing the same connector by the ENG.coolant temp. sensor and gauge unit and this connector for the (CKP)&(CMP)sensors both plug into the distributor and I'm looking at both diagrams in a daze, cause is that where I could run a wire beloging to the (CKP)sensor into the same wire in the distributor for the (CMP) sensor or do they share the same connector so I can get spark. |
| Answer: | Giltonio, I don't know if I'd be able to help out even with seeing the picture you found in the book, but you could send it to my email address profhinkley@hotmail.com . I don't know too much about the electrical layout of the Mirage, but you may be able to run a wire from the CKP sensor into the same wire as in the distributor for the CMP sensor. Some manuals can cause lots of confusion. I have a few factory service manuals for Mitsubishis, Hondas, and Nissans and they aren't the easiest thing to figure out sometimes. If you send the picture, I'll check it out and let you know if I can provide any input. Good luck! |
