| Question: | My car failed the state emissions test. The mechanic says it needs a new distributor after doing engine diagonostics. I am shopping for a refurbished distributor (yeah the whole thing, not just the cap or wires). Any place where I can get one readily. I already checked mitsubishiautoparts.com (888 628 3247), they dont have one now. Also, how difficult would it be to replace it myself. Thanks. |
| Answer: | Ash, Check the online store mitsubishipartstore.com (888-267-1845) They may carry the part you need. If you have an AutoZone in your area, they may be able to special order one for you. Though, they'll probably charge about $200 for the distributor and a $50 core charge. You could probably replace your distributor if you're familiar working
on your engine, have lots of time, a good set of metric tools, a good
service manual, and a good back up plan just in case you can't finish
the job yourself. |
