Subject: Automatic Transmission
Question:

I'm driving a 98' Mitsubishi Mirage, which has dome 81K miles. The car's doing great, except I'm experiencing slippages in transmission at times, especially in lower speeds (no problems during driving above 50 miles). What could be the problem, what do I need to do, to get this fixed.

Answer: Sreekumar,
The most probable cause for this problem is a malfunction of the torque converter. I'd recommend having a transmission specialist shop examine the torque converter to verify if it's functioning properly.
Good luck!
