Can I replace the ATF fluid in the automatic with Mobil 1 ATF, when it is due for service,I'd like to use Mobil 1 products if I can or do I have to use the Mitsubishi type. Thankyou and have a nice new year. |
| Answer: | Gary, Check your owners manual. It'll probably say to only use the Mitsubishi special ATF. What you really need to do is find the actual GL and SAE rating for the ATF that is recommended. If you have to, go to your local dealership parts department, and ask to see a bottle of the ATF they recommended for your car. Make note the of GL and/or SAE rating that their bottle lists. Then, you can compare those rating with the Mobil 1 ATF ratings. If they are comparable, go with the Mobil 1. Otherwise, stick with whatever ATF your owners manual suggests; at least until your warranty runs out. Good luck! |
