Subject: WINDSHIELD FLUID PUMP?
Question: HI, I HAVE A 97 MITSUBISHI GALANT. WHEN I TURN ON THE WINDSHIELD SPRAYER NOZZLE, NO FLUID COMES OUT, OR SOMETIMES VERY LITTLE. BUT I DO HEAR THE NOISE OF THE PUMP/MOTOR?
WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?
PLEASE, LET ME KNOW. AND, THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR HELPING ME OUT IN THIS.

SHAN

Answer: Shan,
First thing to check for is to make sure you have enough windshield wiper fluid. Next, make sure there is nothing obstructing the spray nozzle. If you have small pin, carefully stick it in the holes of your spray nozzles to be sure nothing is blocking it. You can even adjust the direction of the spray pattern by carefully moving the nozzles with the pin.

Also, if the area you live in is getting freezing temperatures, its possible there is some frozen fluid in your fluid lines. If you open your hood, you can usually follow the rubber tubes that connect your windshield fluid tank to your spray nozzles. Make sure those hoses are not being pinched and that nothing it is in the tube blocking the fluid.
Good luck!
