Subject: 1995 Mitsubishi
Question: Mr. Falcone,I haven't much experience with foreign cars that is true but I've been doing work on cars all of my life.I have replaced timing belts on many cars on the 1995 Four cylinder Mitsubishi Galaunt ES I think I would have to disconnect the motor mount on the side and raise the engine so it still is supported to give me the room I need to work on the timing belt It looks to be one belt.I thought by using two jacks I would be able to do the job.I know the no.1 clinder has to be on the compression stroke and the cylinder has to be at the top T.D.C.then I should line up the timing marks which is marked on the block when the belt is in the right place.I have rebuilt engines but no experience with Mitsubihi cars.Do you still think I should let someone else do the job I know someone would do it for me for about $350.with parts that is a reasonable price
Answer: Doug,
Sounds like you know the basics for changing a timing belt. If you go ahead and attempt this job yourself, you might as well replace all the belts and the water pump. Water pumps on Mitsubishis usually have a life of about 8-10 years. So if your water pump has never been changed, this may be a good time to do it.

For parts and labor, $350 for a timing belt replacement is a decent price. The other good thing about having a mechanic replace your timing belt is that if something goes wrong, you have someone to blame.
Good luck!
