| Subject: | 93 Galant problem |
| Question: | I am driving a 93 mistubishi
Galant(manual). I got the distributor changed couple days ago.
Now the car will die sometime in driving and can not start immediately.
It can be started after 5 minutes. The fuel system looks good.
The problem happenes 2 times in 3 days. |
| Answer: | Dong, Depending on how old your spark plugs and plug wires are, you may need to replace them as well. They should be replaced every 30k miles. It is strange that it starts back up after a few minutes.
Whenever I get a question from an older Mitsubishi that has
strange and sudden problems, I refer people to read this
article: Your car falls within this category. If your fuel system is
fine (your fuel pump is working properly and you fuel filter
is new) and your ignition system is working, there's a good
chance your ECU is the problem. You may want to have it inspected
to make sure it's in good working order. |
