Subject: Engine Mount
Question: 1995 Galant S
Build Date June 1995
My engine is scrubbing the crankshaft pully on the left frame brace. I have replaced the left engine mount but the engine still scrubs. What can I do to get the engine back in its proper place?
Answer: Derald,
This is a tough one to diagnose without seeing it. Replacing the motor mount is a good start, but it may not help all that much if your frame is bent.

I have heard of others replacing all three motor mounts with polyurethane motor mounts. They are much stiffer and are more stable than the factory squishy motor mounts. The biggest problem with the polyurethane motor mounts is that it transfer a LOT of vibration into the cabin. That is usually pretty annoying for the passengers. I'm not sure what more advise I could offer without seeing how badly its scrubbing.
Good luck!
