Subject: 1996 Mitsubishi Galant S
Question: I have a 1996 Mitsubishi Galant S, 5sp, 4cyl, I wanted to replace the bulbs on the instrumentation panel. I bought new bulbs, and I asked autozone how to replace the bulbs. They said I have to remove the entire dashboard? Is that true? And if so, where are the screws since I can't seem to find their locations on the dashboard. I lost my manual so I don't know where it is. Could you help me out?
Thanks,
Jose
Answer: Jose,
You did get the correct advise for AutoZone. The screws are not immediately noticable. The engineers put them out of view for a reason. Unfortunately, I don't have a Galant service manual for your particular year, so I can't tell you exactly where or how many screws there are. Even if you have the owners manual, it most likely wouldn't tell you where the screws are. You may have better luck with a service manual. There are ones available for your car made by Chiltons. AutoZone usually just carries Haynes manuals, but you can check to see if they have one for your car. If you can't find a manual at any local auto store, you can order a Chiltons manual from many online sites. Amazon.com usually has good deals. From the sounds of this and your previous question you wrote me about, a service manual would be perfect for you.
Good luck!
