i am getting a problem that when i am at a speed of 40 and above and when i turn left i get loud sound seems to be coming from front so pepboys people checked and said that there is a problem in the in front wheel hub assembly on one side but they said that both side hub has to be replaced....is it necessary to get both of them replaced.....can't we do with just one side which is the problem....please let me know as soon as possible..thank you for your help

Answer: Ranjandashora,
You should get a little more information as to what exactly is wrong with the front hub assembly. If the problem is simply a wheel bearing, then you may be ok replacing just one side. But PepBoys may be recommending to do both sides because that is what is instructed by Mitsubishi. And there's a good chance if one wheel bearing went bad that the other one may be soon to follow. Aftermarket wheel bearings usually cost around $60. If this was being performed at the dealership, they may replace the entire hub assembly; approx. $140-$180.

There's also a chance your CV-Joint went bad due to a ripped CV-boot. CV-Joints are expensive and time consuming to install, though you should not have to replace both sides.

Be sure you find out exactly what is needed to be done, and an estimate of the cost. Don't be afraid to get more than one opinion from multiple garages.
Good luck!
