Question: I have been try to find parts for my galant without paying a fortune through a dealer. I am needing a hub assembly and up and lower ball joints for the front. (I think that is what they called them) Through a dealer the upper are $300 and something and the lower is $50 something. If you can help I would appreciate it very much.

There are definately other places to get those parts other than the dealership.

You should first check any local auto parts stores. Places like AutoZone, Advanced Auto, or PepBoys can carry these parts. And even if they don't have it in the store, many times they can order it for you.

I've had to order both those parts. And a wheel hub assembly usually costs around $80-$100, and a ball joint is around $30. That will vary from year, model, and whether or not you have ABS. If you don't have any of these auto parts stores near you, you can check out the web site www.mitsubishipartstore.com (888-267-1845 or 888-628-3247).
They may even offer free shipping.

Just about anything you buy from the dealership will cost you around three times the price of aftermarket products. It's definately worth while to shop around. If the dealership prices are only around $50 or less for all the parts you need, go through the dealership. Otherwise, stick with the aftermarket products.
