| Question: | I'm an owner of Mitsubishi Galant 1999,ES V6.Recently almost all lights on my dashboard went off with the exception of the odometer light. My question is:Does anyone know how to remove the dashboard panel,so I can replace the lights? |
| Answer: | John, First, check and make sure you don't have any blown fuses. Also make sure the knob that controls the brightness for the dash lights is on MAX. The dashboard lights are not easy to get to; especially on the later model of Galant that you have. If you're sure that you are not getting illumination due to your bulbs burnt out, then you can look into getting a service manual for your car. Most auto parts stores will have a manual for around $10-$15. It should give enough instruction in getting to your dashboard lights. But even if you get in to the dash, you'll probably still have to go through the dealership to get the special bulbs that are required. This is not the first time I've heard of the dashboard lights going out on the Galant; and it's not just the '99 models. Your car came with a factory warranty of 3 yrs/36000 miles. If you still fall within this range, take it to the dealership to be replaced. |
