Subject: ENGINE SURGING (part 2)
Question: Mr Falcone,
I think you may have misunderstood the problem I am having with my 1992 Galant Limited Edition Turbo. When first starting up my car, I do not have any problem with the surging in idle. It is only after the car has reached normal operating temperature that the surging in idle begins. The surging continues from this point on with out returning to normal rpm's until car is turned off. IAC motor, fast idle air valve and gasket, repaired 3/02 and processor replaced on 4/9/2 saying processor could not control idle air solenoid.
Answer: Larry,
I did understand, I was just giving a little background info. My 1990 Eclipse turbo had that same surging problem. All the things I mentioned should still be checked. You should also check your EGR solenoid. Its located under your throttle body housing. It may be blocked with lots of carbon deposits. My was almost completely clogged before I cleaned it out.

Sometimes the ECU (car's computer) will mis-analyze intake problems. After you've had the items checked that I mentioned, reset the ECU; either unplug it from under the dash, or detach the negative battery cable for about 15 minutes. Then check the codes again.
