| Subject: | Heater fan speed. |
| Question: | Hello Anthony, I have this 94 Mitsubishi Galant of mine that the heater fan only works on high speed. When I was turning the heater fan meter dial to "low", "mid" or "mid-hi", then fan does not come on. Do you know what is wrong? Thank for your help in advance. Chai |
| Answer: | Chai, Sounds like the either the linkage to your blower motor is off, or there is not enough power getting to your blower motor to turn it on. If you need to set the the fan all the way to the maximum position for the fan to even come on, that may be an indication the blower motor may be dying. Have that motor checked. It may be as simple as a bad wire. But its possible you may also have a faulty fan. Also check any fuses that are on the blower motor circuit. You can find which ones these are from your owner's manual. If any of the fuses are blown, replace them. I'm assuming you live in a cold part of country and that's why you're noticing this problem now. A bad blower motor will not cause any additional problems in the rest of the car, but you should have it checked out for your own comfort. Good luck! |
