Subject: 1996 Eclipse Won't start
Question: I parked my '96 Eclipse, 2.0, Manual with low fuel and returned 6 hours later but it won't start. All power seems ok, it attempts to crank but just won't turn over. I added more fuel but still no luck. Any advice?
Answer: Andrew,
Your car may be flooding for some reason. You should inspect your spark plugs for evidence of excess fuel entering the cylinder. If the spark plugs reak of gasoline, this maybe your problem. Fuel injected cars really flood now adays, but it's still possible. Also, you may be do for an overall "tune-up". Replace spark plugs, plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, and inspect all hoses and connections. If it's been longer than 60,000 miles since your last belt change (timing belt, balance belt, etc...), now is a good time to do it.
Good luck
