Subject: Alternator
Question: 95 eclipse, manual trans. How do I r&r the alternator? I removed all of the bolt, but it doesn't seem like there is a good way to take the alternator out.
Answer: Chris,
I'm assuming you have a repair manual to guide you for this job. For the average home mechanic, the easiest way to remove the alt. is to keep rocking it back and forth. Eventually, you can wiggle the alternator free. If you want to go by the actual factory service manual, they would have you remove half the engine in order to remove the alternator. That would involve removing all drive belts, timing belt, and some other surrounding components.

I know this is not the best or most complete answer, but there is not a simple straight-forward answer. But once you get it out, you should be able to re-install the new alternator without a problem.
Good luck!
