| Subject: | exhaust manifold |
| Question: | When I took the head
off I found that there are two small cracks in the exhaust mainfold.
Can these be repaired or do I need to replace the manifold. Thanks
for the info on the valves. |
| Answer: | Tim, The 1G Eclipses are notorious for cracked manifolds. If you own a 1G 2.0L Eclipse and your exhaust manifold is NOT cracked, that is rare; especially on the turbo models. I would recommend either checking auto yards for a used one, or seeing if an exhaust manny from a 2G (95-99) Eclipse will fit. I know the turbo model exhaust manifolds are compatible for 90-99 models, but I'm not positive about the non-turbo models. But if you're looking for a quick fix, most auto stores will sell a high-temp repair sealant specifically made for manifolds. That should be sufficient if cracks are small and minor like you mentioned. If you're looking for good deals on internal engine parts, here's
