| Subject: | FUEL CUTOFF |
| Question: | 1992 ECLIPSE GSX 5
SPEED I RECENTLY HAD A MOTOR BUILT FOR ME AND I UPGRADED THE TURBO TO A 16 G, I AM EXPERIENCING FUEL CUT OFF REAL BAD. I UPGRADED THE FUEL PUMP ALSO, I WAS WONDERING WHAT I CAN DO TO GET RID OF THE FUEL CUT OFF. WILL A SAFC CONTROLLER DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT OR DOES THE ECU HAVE TO GET REPROGRAMMED, IF SO WHO AND WHERE DOES THAT. ANY INFO WILL HELP THANKS ADAM |
| Answer: | Adam, Your upgraded fuel pump should help limit your fuel cut. If you haven't done it already, you should rewire your fuel pump to give it sufficient voltage. It's a relatively simple rewiring procedure that you can get instructions from http://www.vfaq.com . A SAFC will help out a lot, and if you plan on doing some serious
racing/dragging, you'll want one. But they can be expensive, and
if hooked up wrong can cause major problems. There are ways to deal
with fuel cut without getting a safc. There are lots of web sites
that offer ways to trick your ECU into not issuing the fuel cut.
But if you want your ECU reprogrammed, and find mod chips, check
out this site: They offer all sorts of different tips. Hope that helped. |
