| Answer: | Lisa, Sounds like maybe your clutch is slipping. Another possibilty is that your accelerator cable is sticking, or even your throttle body plate is sticking open. Any mechanic should be able to adjust the accelerator cable and clean your throttle body plate pretty easily. If you want to get your clutch checked, find a transmission specialty shop to inspect it. Your local garage mechanic may not have the tools or knowledge to work on the tricky clutch that Mitsu puts in their cars. You can bring it to the dealership to have it inspected, but they will most assuredly charge you a lot of money. Your other problem is a little tricky. I've never run into any issues with the 2G A/C systems (Eclipse, '95-'99). You may want to check your owners manual in the A/C section first to see if it tells you what that blinking light means. If you have an AutoZone in your area, they should be able to run a diagnostic check on your car's computer. They usually perform this check for free. If they discover any error codes your computer is sending out, they can give tell you what's wrong with your car. If they can't determine that there's anything wrong or explain what the blinking light means, you'll probably have to bring it to the dealership to have it inspected. Good luck! |
