Question:

1990 eclipse 1.8 manual
i replaced the the batterie conections and when i went to shut the hood the connections where to talll because it had a wingnut well it threw sparks everywhere and burnt the hood pretty bad but now it wont start and i have replaced the starter and the ignition switch, when you try to start it all you hear is the starter solenoid click and thats it if there is anything that you can think of it would be very appreiciated

You may have shorted out your main ignition fuse or starter relay. Its also possible that you shorted your battery just enough that its too weak. Have your battery load tested at a local garage or auto parts store.
Another possibility is that you shorted out your ECU. In recent weeks, I've been getting a lot of questions from other Mitsu owners that have cars that are over 10 years old. In most cases, they were having very strange and intermittent problems. I have instructed them to read the following article:

The older your car gets, the more likely problems will arrise due to this issue. and because of your recent short circuit, that will increase the likelihood of this problem. Have your car's computer inspected just to be safe.
