Subject: starting
Question: i have a 92 eclipse 2.0 non turbo. it will not start after sitting over night without starting fluid or cycling the ign switch for about 3-4 min. after it does start and warms up for 5-10 mins it runs great. seems to not be holding fuel pressure. i have put on a new pump, press regulator, and filter. with new pump it worked perfectly for about three days, then check engine light came on again and the exat same problem returned. possible new pump went bad or another problem i have overlooked? any info would be helpful. thanks.
Answer: Brian,
Your problem may be with your fuel injectors. If one is failing or is clogged, your pressure may fluctuate. One very simple, but overlooked problem could be with your gas cap. If your gas cap has a bad seal, your pressure will defiantely be low and may even cause your check engine light to come on.

In recent weeks, I've been getting a lot of questions from other Mitsu owners that have cars that are over 10 years old. In most cases, they were having very strange and intermittent problems. I have instructed them to read the following article:

The older your car gets, the more likely problems will arrise due to this issue. Have your car's computer inspected just to be safe.
Good luck!
