Hi, well my car's leaking what seems like transmission fluid. It shifts to 2nd gear at about 15-20mph and doesn't shift what so ever after that, also it would all of a sudden stop accelerating and the car would seem like it's in neutral because the engine revs up with out it sending power to the wheels then it starts picking up speed again. What could be causing this problem and about how much do you estimate it would cost to have repaired? Thank you for your time, all help and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. |
| Answer: | Yasmani, Your problem may simply be that the leak is getting worse, and the lack of tranny fluid can cause the problem you're experiencing. You probably have a bad oil seal that is causing your leak. The seal itself may only cost a few bucks, but the labor involved can cost you a couple hundred dollars. But have this leak checked out as soon as possible. If your transmission does run too low on fluid, your transmission can overheat and cause a much more severe problem. Good luck! |
