| Answer: | Gabriel, Here is a list of items that should have been replaced on the car as far as maintenance with the mileage you have on it: - Tires - Wheel alignment - Timing belt, balance belt, tensioner, water pump - Spark plugs and plug wires - Brake pads and rotors (at least have the rotors turned) - Coolant flush - Transmission flush and filter replaced - Drive belts (power steering, alternator, A/C) - PCV valve - Air filter - Fuel filter If any of these items have been replaced in the last 30,000 miles, then they probably do not need to be replaced. However, if you have no record of any of these items being replaced, they should be serviced. First on your list should be your brakes and your timing belt. The timing
belt in your car should be religiously replaced at least every 60,000
miles. Failure to replace the timing and balance belt could cause the
belts to break and that would result in the destruction of your engine.
Though it's usually the most expensive to have your car serviced at the
dealership, I would recommend having the dealership replace your timing
belt. They will get it right the first time because many local mechanics
have difficulty replacing timing belts on these cars. All other items
can be done by your local mechanic. |
