| Subject: | Transmission noice |
| Question: |
I just bought a 2003 Eclipse Spyder GS automatic. When I press the gas pedal and the RPM go over 4000 or 5000 there is a grinding noise and the car loses power until the transmission shifts to second gear. This does not happend on any other gear. |
| Answer: | Jose, Be sure your engine oil level and transmission fluid level are full. If you have between 45k-60k miles on your car, you may want to flush your transmission fluid and replace your transmission fluid filter. If your tranny fluid is low or real dirty, it may be loosing viscosity and causing metal to scrape on metal. Also have your timing checked to be sure it's set correctly. Good luck! |
