Subject: ECU replacement
Question: 2000 mitsubishi eclipse, 24valve V6 gt, manual. I cant seem to find a manual to show me how to get the old ecu out and put the new one in. And I dont know how to do it?
Answer: Chad,
If your car is still under warranty, have a mechanic at your dealership do it for free. There are no aftermarket service manuals avaialbe that I know of for that year. You can buy one from Mitsubishi, but they are a bit expensive. Your ECU is located behind your dash, usually below the radio. I've never had to pull an ECU out of a 3G Eclipse before. But it's really easy to take off the old one and put in the new one once you can get to it. It shouldn't require more than a phillips head screwdriver.
Good luck!
