| Subject: | Torque Wrench |
| Question: | Hi Anthony I am looking to buy a torque wrench for my brother, who has a 97 Eclipse. He has made significant modifications to it - from intakes to exhaust systems. Obviously he likes to tinker with it. I know there are different types, so I'm hoping that you have an idea as to which wrench I should buy for him. I don't know anything about them, so the more detail you can give me the better off I'll be! Thanks in advance for your help! |
| Answer: | Kim,
There are lots of torque wrenchs on the market. Choosing one is not easy. If your borther does a lot work on his car, a torque wrench is a great gift idea. A very good quality torque wrench is a Craftsman. The nice thing about a Craftsman is that they are accurate, dependable and have a lifetime warranty. I'd recommend a Craftsman 1/2 in. Drive Torque Wrench. They are available
at just about any Sears store. They can cost anywhere from $30 - $200.
A $30-$70 wrench would definately suit his needs. No need going crazy
with a $200 model. You can even ask a sales person at Sears for advise.
They are usually pretty knowledgabe about their tools. |
