| Question: |
I am working on a 1995 Eclipse that will not run. The original problem
was loss of fire to one cylinder. We changed the coil pack, which caused
that cylinder to fire, but then when it would start it would back fire.
Once it would finally start it would run terribly rough. We brought it
to the dealership and when they tried to work on it, it would not start
at all. |
| Answer: | Cyril, If you can, find out from the dealership exactly what they looked at when they had it. They may have already tested some of the sensors. If your crank or camshaft sensors was malfunctioning, your check engine light would mostly have come on. I'd also lean towards having the computer checked out. Read this article
for some related information: Though you have a '95 model, there's still a chance some of the older
capacitors may have made it into your ECU. Open up the ECU and inspect
it for damage. |
