I recently jost change my oil filter and my oil in engine. I start my 95 Eclipse I so happy to change my oil first time. But I no oil pressure, I very scare so I turn off key. I see oil all over the floor. I dont know waht to do now, I thnk i Take to dealer if you can not help me. This first time I do this, so maybe I make mistake much. |
| Answer: | John, Check your oil filter. The filter threads are VERY precise. If you did not thread it on straight, will not be able to make a seal with the oil filter housing. Hence, it will leak a LOT of oil. Jack the car up and put it on jack stands high enough so your can fully get directly under the car to look at the filter. Chances are, it's just not completely screwed on, or the filter is screwed on crooked. Remove the filter and try to install it again. There's a chance the place you bought the filter from gave you the wrong one. In that case, bring the filter back and exchange it for the correct one. Good luck! |
