Question: MY WIFE HAS A 1995 MITS ECLIPSE 2.0 GS WE HAD A BRAND NEW MITSUBISHI BATTERY INSTALLED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO NOW SOMETIMES WHILE YOUR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE CAR WILL DIE FOR NO REASON SHE HAS CALLED MECHANIC AFTER MECHANIC THEY HAVE ALL SAID IT'S THE IGNITION MODULE BUT WHEN SHE CALLED THE MITSUBISHI PLACE IN HICKORY NC THEY TOLD HER THERE WAS NO SUCH THING SHE ALSO CALLED A FOREIGN PARTS STOREIN HICKORY NC THEY SAID ITS IN THE COMPUTER SO COULD YOU E-MAIL ME AND TELL ME HOW MUCH THEY ARE

Well, believe it or not, some Eclipses do have ignition modules. You may want to contact another Mitsubishi dealership to confirm, find a mechanic you feel is honest.... not easy to do.
The prices on an ECU (the car's computer) can vary greatly. If you were to go to the dealership to get one, you'd be looking at a price tag of around $1000. There are places you can find those computer for much, MUCH less. One of the best places to look is eBay. I just happened to see an ECU that would fit your car for only $100. I'd recommend searching Internet sites for refurbished ECUs and don't both buying a brand new one. If you do venture to eBay to look for the computer, use a search string of "eclipse ecu". You'll get many results, but I can almost guarentee you'll find a match for your car.
