| Answer: | James, The Dodge RAM engine is essentially a Mitsubishi engine, but is not set in the engine bay the same as Mitsubishi vehicles. I can't say for sure that your head does not need to be removed when setting your timing belt. I can say for sure that it'll make the job easier. Most manuals will describe the most thorough way to perform the job. I'd recommend buying a second service manual; kind of like getting a second opinion. It may provide better illustrations and instructions. Personally, I have three manuals handy any time a do a major job on my car. Setting the timing can be a major job. But with lots of information, the job will go bit more smoothly. Good luck! |
