| Question: | Hey Anthony, I have
a Diamante 94 and is in great condition except my transmission broke
down however my extended warranty replaced it with a used one that
had 37000 miles along with all the seals gaskets covers etc... It drove
great for the 2 weeks and then I noticed a small trans leak. The mechanic
said the leak was from the pulse generator sensor at end clutch cover.
Is this difficult to repair? Where is it located ? and what do you
think happened for it to leak? I appreciate your help. jay. |
| Answer: | Jay, Replacing the pulse generator sensor (PGS) is not very difficult to replace. It's located at the side of the transmission on the passenger side of the car. I'm kind of skeptical that the PGS is the cause of this leak. I would guess its the end clutch cover seal/O-ring. There are a lot of little seals around the end clutch. If any one of them are excessively leaking, it could cause other types of leaks. Regardless of what is causing the leak, it should be fixed asap.
The trannies in the Diamantes are very sensitive and a lack of tranny
fluid can cause major problems. |
