92 LS 3.0 Engine DOHC 139,000 miles I need to replace engine, where can I get the most reasonable price to have a engine put in? Is it worth getting done? I just recently had the timing belt changed and a tune up, also the front axle and boot replaced. |
| Answer: | Falisha, There are many places to get a rebuilt engine. Unless you really love your car, I don't think it's worth getting a rebuilt engine. Your as it is, your car is worth about $1800. A rebuilt engine, including core charge, shipping, handling, and labor to install, will most likely cost you more than $3500. And those are just my estimates. If your car is running well, I would just drive it as long as you can, and then trade it in for a new car. You can look online for places that sell rebuilt Diamante engines and you can call around for auto junkyards in your area. You may get lucky and find one that relatively inexpensive, but I can guarantee that getting a rebuilt engine installed will be more expensive than the total worth of your car. Good luck! |
