| Subject: | 95' Magna overheating & few other noises |
| Question: |
1995 Mitubishi Magna, 2.6l, manual. Also when I steer to the right in the car I hear a bad creaking/screehing noise.? What could that be. |
| Answer: | Cormac, For your noisy steering issue, that most likely is a bad drive belt. Have our power steering belt inspected and replaced if necessary. For your overheating problem, it sounds like you may have a blown head
gasket. With a blown gasket, the coolant can leak into your combustion
chamber and burn off. This would cause your coolant to disappear without
the evidence of any leaks. You can check your exhaust for whitish smoke,
and it may smell sweet. Those are signs of burning coolant. You would
need your head gasket replaced if your mechanic determines that this is
indeed the problem. |
