Question:	I am driving a mitsubishi spacewagon glx 1.8 auto. i believe u should know tt the car is an outdated model apart from the recent & latest mitsubishi grandis. The problem with my car is > the overdrive(OD)is not functioning. For example, when the speed reaches ard 70-80km/h, i depress the OD button and hope the rpm will (decrease to norm ard 2)accomodate me to reach to a higher gear. But what i encounter was the rpm starts to shoot at 4 and tt makes the car sound very noisy unlike b4 when the OD is working ok. So now all while i have been driving with the OD function OFF even on highways.
Answer:	Wan, The Spacewagon was not sold under that name in the US. The Vanwagon they sold until 1990 might be similar, but I've never worked on one of those either. If the OD is not working, it's most likely caused by a solenoid that is sticking. You'd need a mechanic to inspect the OD solenoid and replace it if necessary. Good luck!
