| Question: | Tony, Thanks for the quick reply. I had one more question: 1. If the problem is indeed what you indicate it could be, can you give me the ballpark prices for the repair. I do understand that it varies from shop to shop, but I am just looking for some estimates. I would appreciate it if you could indicate the pricing for both the scenarios - A worn wheel bearing as well as the CV-boots/CV Joint. Thanks for your help. Ojas |
| Answer: | Ojas, A rough ballpark: CV-boots and Joints: $300-$500 Wheel Bearing only: $150-$300 If the problem is the CV-boots/Joints, some shops may recommend that
you change the entire axle. That's mainly because you need to remove
the entire axle in most cases to get to the CV-boots. Of course, an axle
replacement would cost more in parts, but would be cheaper in labor.
It all depends on the shop you use. Call around and ask shops for estimates.
Most will be able to give them to you. |
