| Question: | I broke my timing belt
and would like to know if any engine has happened. if engine damage
happened then they would never been able to put the cylinders at TDC. |
| Answer: | David, If your timing belt broke even if your engine was running slowly, there is definately a chance your valves are bent and your cylinders are scarred. It may still be possible to get the #1 piston to TDC, but it's impossible to tell what position the intake and exhaust valves are in once the timing belt has snapped. You can try to get your piston to TDC, but if you start hearing metal touching metal, stop before any further damage is caused. Good luck! |
