eclipse 2.0 auto gs(non turbo)been sitting for a year or so,before i got it.has no spark.did thease cars have a problem with crank sensor,coil,or power transistor?.thanks for the help.smitty |
| Answer: | Smitty, The items you mentioned are not particular problem areas if the car has not been driven. Be sure the battery is full charged. You may also want to check your alternator. A common problem with the Eclipse is that the power steering pump can leak over time due to worn our o-rings. For most cars, that's not a problem but with the Eclipse design, the power steering pump is located directly above the alternator. If enough power steering fluid leaks on the alternator, it can quickly reduce the life of the alternator and it's power output. Another common problem with the early model Eclipse is with the
car's computer. Read this article for further information: If your caps have leaked and corroided the ECU board, you will have
strange problems like no start/spark. Pull the ECU out and inspect
