Subject: My 1993 Mitsubishi 3000gt
Question: hey...we just has a snowstom not too long ago and i didnt start my car...which i knew was bad to do...and then one day I went to drive it, and when i depress the gas pedal in gears it jumps a little and shakes a lot! Now i thought this could be maybe moisture in the gas tank.....low on antifreeze or i have no idea...im no mechanic and I really need advice as to what it may be.....By the way I have a stick skift... When i switch into gwears then i press the gas...the car shakes and it almost slips in and out a little....maybe the fuel is not getting there right? I have no idea as I said...please email me back ASAP with your expert analyasis.
Thanks so much and happy holidays! -Greg
Answer: Greg,
Extreme shaking of your engine could mean your balance belt has slipped or broke off. The balance belt helps keep your engine running smooth and free of shaking. The timing belt and balance belts should be changed every 45,000 miles or so. If you want to be sure the fuel is not a problem, you should replace your fuel filter.
Good luck!
