| Question: | Dear Anthony, Had to Change the Water pump in the 95 3000GT in order to have access to it the timming belt had to be removed now we cant seem to get the timming right. Any hints what are we doing wrong? Hope you can help !! Thanks Marksdot |
| Answer: | Dot, The only advise I could have really given you would have been preventative advise. You should have used large butterfly clips to clamp down the belt on the cam sprockets and then use white-out to mark the belt position on the sprocket. But not much good that will do now. If you are unable to get a good service manual for your car and a timing light, then you may need to have a qualified mechanic install it for you. The 3000GTs are VERY particular and you could do a lot of damage if the timing is off. Sorry I couldn't help more.
